The Capitals are home at Capital One Arena and hosting the Nashville Predators on Wednesday night.
Puck drop will occur at 7:30 PM and here is your injury report.
In the penultimate game for the month of January, the Capitals are at home to host the Nashville Predators (side bar, I feel like January has been 600 years long). The Caps are on a four-game winning streak and the Preds are currently last in the Central Division. The Preds need this win, but I would also love to continue a winning streak. I’m not biased at all.
Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, just enough to throw you off a little bit. Recap will be provided by our shining star, Christopher.
It’s time for a quick break, but before the Capitals take 9 days before their next game, they are in New York for an afternoon rumble with the Islanders. Alex Ovechkin will be serving his suspension after the All-Star Break and the Islanders will be hoping to score a win after losing to the Rangers on Thursday evening.
Puck drop is at 1:00 PM and Chris will meet you back here for the recap!
Alex Ovechkin had a legendary game Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils.
After taking a high stick to the face from Miles Wood that went undetected by officials, Ovi was quick to come back and he scored a hat trick. Sweet, sweet revenge. But Ovechkin’s second goal of the night is the one that made some history.
This was way better than the last time the Capitals faced off against the New Jersey Devils.
The game kicked off with some great pressure from the Capitals and a goal from Carl Hagelin. Sadly, the goal was called back after an offsides review. The time of when the game actually began will be debated, but I think it started after Miles Wood decided to mess with Alex Ovechkin and give him a high stick to the mouth. The call was missed by the referees, but after the Caps eventually went 5-on-3, Ovi was quick to put two goals in the back of the net with two assists from Nick Backstrom. Don’t mess with the best. Second period opened with a revenge goal from Carl Hagelin, which was quickly answered by Wayne Simmonds. As for the third period, the Devils scored a shorthanded goal, but that wouldn’t be enough. Jakub Vrana registered his 21st goal of the season and Alex Ovechkin sealed the night with his third goal.
The Capitals are kicking off their week with hosting the Carolina Hurricanes. After tonight, the Capitals are officially DONE with the Hurricanes for the regular season!
Game starts at 7 PM. Here’s your injury report.
The week is kicking off with the Capitals at home playing host to the Carolina Hurricanes. That’s it! All done with the Canes after tonight! This is the fourth and final regular season rumble between these two teams. Such a weird schedule, but hopefully the Capitals can pull out a win tonight to finish the Canes series tied up at 2-2.
Puck drop is at 7:00 PM. The recap will be coming to you from Peter Hassett.
After the wild overtime win against the Sharks and a couple days of rest, the Capitals are back at home and hosting the Ottawa Senators for their first matchup of the season.
Puck drop is at 7 PM and here is your injury report.
A tricky overtime win and a rest day later, the Capitals are back. Tonight, they’re at home hosting the Ottawa Senators for the first of three matchups between the two teams. The Capitals are looking great. On the Senators side, I think they’re probably just hoping to snap their four-game losing streak.
If you’re headed to the game tonight, be safe! I heard there is snow happening.
Puck drop is back to the usual 7 PM and your recapper this evening will be Peter Hassett.
