The Washington Capitals announced their 63-man roster ahead of the start of their 2023 Training Camp on Thursday.
The roster consists of 36 forwards, 20 defensemen, and seven goalies. The players will be initially broken up into three separate squads (Group A, Group B, and Group C) for skates on varying schedules.

The Hershey Bears announced their initial 28-man Training Camp roster on Sunday hours after the Capitals made its second large cut of Training Camp.
The 2022-23 Bears’ team, as its currently constructed, will be headlined by local product Sam Anas and Capitals’ first-round pick Hendrix Lapierre.
Several strong veteran players are on the way.

Six of the eight players cut by the Caps will need to pass through waivers before they head to Hershey for Bears Training Camp which starts on Monday. That group of six includes goaltender Zach Fucale.

The Washington Capitals announced a huge group of cuts from their Training Camp roster on Friday. Twenty-two players were sent back to their respective clubs, trimming down the overall group in DC to 40.
The Caps’ AHL affiliate Hershey Bears start their Training Camp early next week and all but one of the cuts in this group is headed to Pennsylvania for that. Four of the players will need to make it through waivers before being allowed to do so.

The Washington Capitals announced Monday afternoon their first cuts from their 2022 Training Camp roster. Six players have been trimmed from the original 68-man group that took the ice last week.
The six Caps are all still junior-eligible prospects so they have been sent back to their respective Canadian junior teams. Four of them were participants in Sunday’s preseason loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

The team placed forward Garrett Pilon and goaltender Zach Fucale on waivers with the intention of sending them to the AHL Hershey Bears if they clear.

The Washington Capitals made another big cut to their Training Camp roster, leaving the team with 27 players a little over a week ahead of Opening Night.
Seven players were removed from the roster, three of which must pass through waivers to get to Hershey.
A day after debuting his new Capitals’ mask design for the 2021-22 season, Pheonix Copley was cut by Washington and put on waivers with the intent of being sent down to AHL Hershey.
Copley, who served as Braden Holtby’s backup during the 2018-19 season, is in the final year of a three-year, $3.3 million contract he signed in 2019.
The Bears’ first day of Training Camp was held on Monday. Earlier in the day, the Capitals lost Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, who was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Sabres.
The Washington Capitals reduced their Training Camp roster to 34 on Sunday, cutting three forwards from the team.
Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Brett Leason, and Joe Snively are all headed back to Hershey. AJF must pass through waivers first before he can.
