The Hershey Bears revealed their roster for the start of 2026 Training Camp on Tuesday.
The group consists of 18 players, including 13 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders. The Bears will continue adding players as the Washington Capitals make roster cuts ahead of the NHL regular season.
The most notable names on the club’s roster to begin camp include veteran mainstays like Matt Strome, Sam Bitten, Grant Cruikshank, and Dalton Smith. Five players will come to camp on either professional tryout agreements or on a training camp tryout basis.
Garin Bjorklund and Ben Kraws will be the two goaltenders to start camp, as Clay Stevenson and Mitchell Gibson remain with the Capitals for now.
Tuesday marks the first practice for head coach Derek King in his second season with the Bears, with the first skate scheduled for 11 am at Hersheypark Arena. Hershey will play its first preseason game on Saturday, September 26, on the road against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
