CCM announced that it would be donating 500,000 masks to frontline healthcare workers Wednesday morning.
The popular hockey equipment manufacturer is teaming up with its roster of endorsees to help protect Canadian doctors and nurses on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected nearly 100k people and killed more than 3,000 worldwide according to the New York Times. The virus is now present on every continent except Antarctica.
As countries try to contain its spread, two major hockey organizations have decided to cancel or suspend play in Europe and Asia where countries continue to report an increase in coronavirus cases.
Alex Ovechkin scored his 700th career goal at work today and after he commuted home, he celebrated with his family.
It appears when Ovechkin walked up to the house, a box of hockey gear had arrived in the mail from Ovechkin’s equipment sponsor, CCM.
Inside there was gear for Ovechkin’s one-year-old son Sergei which includes his first gloves, skates, shin pads, and helmet.
Just in time for Spooky Season, hockey equipment company CCM has released a new commercial for their Super Tacks AS2 Pro stick.
And who better to showcase its “scary powerful” capabilities than Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, who has a scary powerful one-timer.

Hockey equipment company CCM released a new commercial on Tuesday. It features Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin.
The 28-second clip promotes CCM’s all-new Super Tacks AS1 protective line featuring D3O Lab protective foam. Ovechkin could not get over how Nickelodeon Gak-like the protective foam is.

In mid-July, Alex Ovechkin became the first NHL player to ever win an ESPY for Best Male Athlete. Ovi wasn’t there to accept the award because he was still in Russia with his wife, Nastya, who at that point was eight months pregnant with their son Sergei.
The Russian machine still made very good use of his time and got some practice in being a hockey dad.
Ovechkin filmed a commercial for CCM and had special guest take part: Dima Zverev, a young boy in remission from cancer.
The commercial celebrated International Charity Day, which is today, September 5.
After officially signing with CCM in October, Alex Ovechkin is finally starring in his first new commercial for the hockey equipment maker.
In a 30-second spot, Ovechkin promotes CCM’s Super Tacks AS1 ice skates which first hit stores on Friday. Ovi was a natural fit to promote the skates because he wears iconic yellow laces, a color the ad plays off of.
After starting his NHL career using CCM gear, Alex Ovechkin officially reunited with the CCM family in October. The long-term partnership mean Ovechkin will exclusively train and play in CCM equipment for the foreseeable future and also do marketing for the company in North America and abroad.
On Monday, CCM visited Oveckin for practice at Kettler Capitals Iceplex to record a new commercial.

As the NHL currently celebrates Hockey Fights Cancer month, Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle spent October raising awareness on his own. Partnering with hockey equipment company CCM, Yandle used a rose-gold metallic stick to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Yandle was easy to notice on the ice during games and it wasn’t just because of his defensive abilities. The specially-wrapped stick, which was reminiscent of the pure gold twig the NHL gave Alex Ovechkin to celebrate his 500th goal, is eye-catching and one-of-a-kind.

Wednesday afternoon, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin officially signed with hockey equipment maker CCM. The deal, which CCM termed a “long term global partnership,” will see The Great 8 exclusively play and train in CCM equipment.
“I started my career with the company and I am excited to be back with CCM! We are going to work together to help me be the best player I can be,” Ovechkin said. “I am excited to work with everybody in North America and back home in Russia to grow the business for CCM and help more kids play hockey.”
Ovechkin played in CCM hockey gear from his rookie year in 2005 until 2011.
