Hockey equipment company CCM released a new commercial on Tuesday. It features Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin.
The 28-second clip promotes CCM’s all-new Super Tacks AS1 protective line featuring D3O Lab protective foam. Ovechkin could not get over how Nickelodeon Gak-like the protective foam is.
The commercial starts with a hockey spokesman, Vancouver Canucks’ 2015 fifth-round pick Carl Neill, introducing the new gear. But then he gets distracted by Ovechkin playing with the protective foam.
“What?” Ovechkin says with a scowl. “This stuff is really cool.”
“Whoa.”
Basically, this is Ovi in the commercial.
Ovechkin’s part in the ad was shot in an alternate MedStar Capitals Iceplex locker room, which is often used for media shots.
Since returning to CCM during the 2017-18 season, Ovechkin has scored 100 goals combined in two seasons and won his first ever Stanley Cup.
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
