The Edmonton Oilers signed Alex Chiasson to a one-year deal after the checking-line forward made the team out of training camp on a PTO. Chiasson did not receive a contract over the summer despite winning a Stanley Cup championship with the Capitals in June. The fourth-line forward even scored a pivotal goal in Game Six of the second round that helped Washington vanquish their demons and eliminate the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Wednesday night, Chiasson continued his Penguins bashing from the season before, scoring two sensational goals in the Oilers eventual 6-5 overtime loss.
The goals marked Chaser’s first tallies with his new team. Tuesday was only the second time Chiasson has played for the Oilers this season.
