Travis Boyd named AHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals in two games
The Washington Capitals unceremoniously dumped Travis Boyd to the Hershey Bears last week. After signing two new players for the fourth line over the summer, the Capitals no longer had room on the active roster for Minnesota native who spent the entire season in the NHL last year.
So how did Boyd respond to the demotion?
After scoring four goals and tallying six points in two games, Boyd was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 13, 2019.
