The Washington Capitals have traveled south to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes. With a win over the Canes tonight, the Capitals can clinch a playoff spot.
In sad news, no matter the outcome, the Canes announced that they will be doing their final Storm Surge this evening. Extremely bittersweet for something that has been so fun to watch these past months.

- The NHL has officially announced their betting partnership with William Hill. Lord, help me and my wallet.
- Brooks Orpik is the Capitals 2019 nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. Batya deserves the nod, he’s a great leader in the room and solid member of the community.
- Surprised John Carlson is a reaction that I’d like to play over and over in my head. Forever.
- The only good thing about Philadelphia continues to be Gritty. The other important thing in Philadelphia? No, not the Liberty Bell or the tons of American history…but, it’s this small goalie that tried to fight Gritty.
- PAPA DIMA! Dmitry Orlov is gonna be a dad!
- Here is your important reminder that Tom Wilson isn’t just a good player on the ice, but he’s a great guy off the ice too.
- I am always very envious of people who are extremely creative. Like this gal and her Carl Hagelin poster. Incredible. I can barely draw a stick figure.
Opening Day
It’s opening day and you baseball folks are buzzin’! My office can’t stop talking about the Yankees, I can’t stop talking about hot dogs, Maryland people can’t stop talking about crab sandwiches, Twitter can’t stop talking about…everything. Personally, I’m not a large baseball fan, but here is baby me in a Mets hat (the only baseball shirt I own is a Matt Harvey Mets one and a baseball ~style shirt with BB-8 on the front).

I will say, I am very excited to watch the Nats without Bryce Harper. In fact, here he is with a Philly mascots shirt on like he’s been a hardcore Philly boy his whole life. If he hasn’t already, he’s absolutely gonna start tweeting about his favorite Kevin Hart movie and his favorite Meek Mill song next:

I want this summer to be the one where I actually begin to care about baseball. My main problems are as follows:
- It is entirely too slow.
- I haven’t really meshed well with baseball fans. I don’t know why.
- You want me to SIT IN THE HEAT. IN SUMMER. I’M ALREADY TOO SWEATY.
- The timing is unpredictable. You never know when a game might end, like a game of cricket or a Harry Potter marathon on ABC Family.
I’m already sold on the food, but how else is a gal like me supposed to get into this? I know I have to try something other than my Harvey tee. I know.
