The Washington Capitals have traveled south to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes. With a win over the Canes tonight, the Capitals can clinch a playoff spot.
In sad news, no matter the outcome, the Canes announced that they will be doing their final Storm Surge this evening. Extremely bittersweet for something that has been so fun to watch these past months.
The game has a 7 PM puck drop on NBCSN. Stream the game on your devices from the My Teams app, if you need to be on the go. I will be conducting my final recap of the regular season. I have concluded this is also why the Canes are doing their final Storm Surge.

Isabelle from the Washington Post continues to hook us up with the expected lineup. TJ Oshie will be a game-time decision, due to illness. Andre Burakovsky has stepped into Osh’s place in the lineup in the meantime:
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson
Hagelin – Kuznetsov – Burakovsky
Vrana – Eller – Connolly
Stephenson – Dowd – Boyd
Djoos – Carlson
Orlov – Niskanen
Orpik – Jensen
Holtby
I’m not crying, you’re crying. PNC Arena is now OVI Arena to me. I’m not sorry about it.
In the same building where #ALLCAPS Alex Ovechkin was selected No.1 in the 2004 Draft and where he recorded his 400th career goal in 2013, Ovechkin can become the 3rd player in League history with eight career 50-goal seasons. It’s opening day and you baseball folks are buzzin’! My office can’t stop talking about the Yankees, I can’t stop talking about hot dogs, Maryland people can’t stop talking about crab sandwiches, Twitter can’t stop talking about…everything. Personally, I’m not a large baseball fan, but here is baby me in a Mets hat (the only baseball shirt I own is a Matt Harvey Mets one and a baseball ~style shirt with BB-8 on the front).

I will say, I am very excited to watch the Nats without Bryce Harper. In fact, here he is with a Philly mascots shirt on like he’s been a hardcore Philly boy his whole life. If he hasn’t already, he’s absolutely gonna start tweeting about his favorite Kevin Hart movie and his favorite Meek Mill song next:

I want this summer to be the one where I actually begin to care about baseball. My main problems are as follows:
I’m already sold on the food, but how else is a gal like me supposed to get into this? I know I have to try something other than my Harvey tee. I know.
