The Washington Capitals get a quick break from the league best Tampa Bay Lightning, when they travel up north to Jersey to take on one of the league’s worst in the Devils. The Devils surely did not have the season that they envisioned coming into 2018-19, but they still have plenty of pieces that can catch a team sleeping on an off day.
Puck drop is at 7:30 PM so you have an extra half an hour to make sure you’re tuned into all of NBCSWA’s coverage of the night via their My Teams app on all of your streaming devices. You got the best of the best on recap duty for the next two games, one Peter Hassett.

In related news, the last Eastern Conference Presidents’ Trophy winner to go on to win the Stanley Cup was the 1994 New York Rangers.
Storylines
- Jakub Vrana dons Pheonix Copley‘s goalie mask during practice tip drill.
- The Caps are unfortunately going to what I think is now a really dirty, felonious McDonald’s play place disguised as what was once the US Presidency residence.
- The Djoos is loose. Christian Djoos is back in the starting lineup.
- The Nashville Predators have signed three-year-old Asher Collier to a two-day contract. What a steal.
- Words heard around college dorm rooms across the country, “Wanna play some Chel”.
- The Laughlin Family Foundation is auctioning off a Caps vs Flyers game-day experience that includes an Alex Ovechkin meet and greet.
- Surprise, Ovi is the only player in the league this season that is on pace to hit the 50-goal mark.
- Happy birthday, Lyla!
- The Caps signed Virginia native, Joe Snively out of Yale University to a two year, entry-level contract beginning in the 2019-20 season.
- Everyone’s favorite Caps prospect, Alex Alexeyev was spotted in a pretty serious looking knee brace after having to be stretchered off the ice due to a scary knee-on-knee collision.
- Those Carolina Hurricanes are being super weird again after they win games on home ice.
- Kuzy being Kuzy.
Bon Appétit: It’s Alive with Brad Leone
Brad Leone is my current favorite person on YouTube. He combines cooking and humor in the best possible way and his “It’s Alive” series is just the best. In this particular video, Brad leaves the test kitchen (where most of the show is filmed) and goes crabbing. He later cooks some of the caught crabs in part two. For the record, the Vinnie constantly referenced is the camera man and Brad’s silent compadre on his adventures.
The description that the channel has given the series is probably good enough to get y’all interested in checking out more of it:
“Join Bon Appétit test kitchen manager, Brad Leone, on a wild, roundabout and marginally scientific adventure exploring fermented foods and more. From cultured butter and kombucha, to kimchi and miso, to beer and tepache, learn how to make fermented and live foods yourself.”
