The Washington Capitals have finally come home, but it’s no time for resting. At noon thirty today, they will play host to the New York Rangers — back on Capital One Arena ice for the first time in a couple weeks.
The game airs on NBCSWA, and you can stream it from your My Teams app. Elyse has recap duty.

Projected Lines
Jensen and Hagelin are probably in, the lines were in a blender yesterday, and there’s no morning skate. Instead of me guessing at lines, here’s a baby tamandua.
Copley in net.
So The Standings…
The Caps are a good deal behind the Islanders and have the Jackets right behind them, but the real excitement is below. After losing to the Flyers, the Penguins have dropped out of the playoff picture. Our adopted second team, the Hurricanes, now sit in the second wild card spot.
It’s gonna be a fun stretch run.
Storylines
- Nick Jensen should make his Caps debut today.
- Yesterday, the Rangers traded Mats Zuccarello to the Stars. We’ve got a full rundown of Saturday’s deals.
- Devante Smith-Pelly has reported to Hershey and will play this week. The Bears are on fire right now.
- Alex Ovechkin scored number 44 yesterday. It was a good one — he outraced a kid 8 years his junior.
- The Stadium Series game was a mess, but Gritty was there.
- The Canes’ Storm Surge has layers.

Looks like everyone had an absolute blast at PQST yesterday. Bravo to Lindsey for putting it on and raising some good money for Fort Dupont. Go browse the twitter hashtag for lots of photos of people smiling despite the meh game they were watching. I hope everyone is feeling okay today. We got work to do. Crash the net.
