Everybody’s favorite non-Slapshot mascot, Gritty, made a big impact on Saturday’s Stadium Series game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers.
Doing his best Lady Gaga Super Bowl impression, Gritty made his grand entrance from the Lincoln Financial Field roof, rappeling down from the top of the stadium while wearing bright LED lights.
He’s all like It me, Gritty.
As soon as the mortifying nightmare fuel landed on the field, the Theme from Rocky started playing, signaling the beginning of the teams’ player entrances from the locker room.
Here’s what it looked like from Gritty’s point of view.
You ever had that dream where you're dressed as @GrittyNHL and you zipline off the roof into #StadiumSeries? pic.twitter.com/AgAKUt6vwF

The NHL also posted drone video of Gritty dancing from the top of the roof before the elaborate entrance.
If that wasn’t awesome enough, Gritty also went streaking for some reason.

Perhaps he ate his jersey because there were no small Flyers fans available for him to consume.
Keep being you, Gritty.
How weird would it be if @GrittyNHL could speak? The @NHLFlyers respond. #StadiumSeries pic.twitter.com/k556FBN6jQ

Which is really really weird.
