The Carolina Hurricanes took it back to the good old days of recess and gym class after their 5-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

For months now, Hurricanes players have been celebrating their wins at PNC Arena with creative team celebrations at center ice, something they’ve dubbed the Storm Surge.

Friday night, the Canes celebrated with a classic game of Duck Duck Goose.

The celebration started out with a clap similar to the Minnesota Viking’s Skol chant.

Brock McGinn is the first player up and he taps four “ducks” before tagging Brett Pesce with “goose.” Pesce chases but McGinn is too quick and makes it back into the circle.

Pesce pulls a classic move from the gym class days and immediately tags the next person “goose,” which was Teuvo Teravainen.

The game ended there, which is a shame because I really would have loved to see Stormy, the Canes pig mascot, chasing a player around the ice.

The popular children’s game on the ice is just the latest epic team celebration by Carolina. In January, after a win against the Buffalo Sabres, Canes captain and former Capital Justin Williams bowled a strike–with his teammates acting as the bowling pins. Before that, the Canes were human dominoes in the shape of a W. Brock McGinn wielded his hockey stick like Thor’s hammer and struck down his teammates in a shockwave.
