Last night, Daniel Sedin reached 1,000 career points after scoring on the power play in Nashville.
Daniel reached the millennium mark just a few months after his brother Henrik. The twins are now the first pair of brothers to each record 1,000 NHL points.

The Toews-ter will burn Toews’ face onto every piece of toast you make.
Friday night, the game’s greatest player of all time, Wayne Gretzky, was at Verizon Center for the Oilers’ game against the Washington Capitals. Gretzky, who currently serves as a partner and vice chairman of the Oilers Entertainment Group, has been traveling with the team this week, which includes the Oilers’ 4-3 win against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center on Wednesday.
During the game, Gretzky sat in the Owners Box with Capitals owner Ted Leonsis. Pre-game, The Great One conducted an interview with a man that worshipped him as a kid, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Alan May.
Gretzky spoke about Alex Ovechkin’s deep desire to win the Stanley Cup, saying that the Russian machine “would do and pretty much give up anything and everything to get his name on a Stanley Cup.” Gretzky also said Braden Holtby is “one of the best goaltenders I’ve seen in a long time.”
Under the tutelage of Head Coach Wayne Gretzky, Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby’s Metropolitan Division defeated the Pacific Division to win the All-Star Game tournament and earn one million dollars.
Alex Oveckin was minus-two. For some reason, Braden Holtby tried really hard in his shutout stint in net for the Metro. Ovechkin jumped up and down with Holtby to celebrate.

With twenty seconds left and a million dollars on the line, Alex Ovechkin went to the next level to ensure the Metropolitan Division All-Stars would hang on to their 4-3 lead.
He became the team’s waterboy.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky will replace the Blue Jackets’ John Tortorella as head coach of the Metropolitan Division all-stars.
After being named one of the top 100 players of all-time, Alex Ovechkin spoke to reporters. He called it the biggest honor of his career.
“To be in this company, it’s incredible,” Ovechkin said to CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Tarik El-Bashir. “All the legends – and you’re one of them. It’s unbelievable.”
Ovechkin then mingled and took photographs with, as he described it, the “best of the best.”
You knew Alex Ovechkin would crack Kari Lehtonen eventually. Down two goals and on the power play, yeah, sure, that sounds just right.

Alex Ovechkin scored his 1,000th and 1,001st points Wednesday night against Pittsburgh. But lost in the madness of this historic achievement was an interview conducted by tiny journalist Aidan Kohn-Murphy. And the SI Kids contributor got a scoop.
While talking about collectibles, Ovechkin suddenly remembered something he was promised last year by the greatest hockey player of all time, Wayne Gretzky.
“At a dinner, he said he would give me a stick. But he never sent it to me,” a desperate Ovechkin said, before turning and addressing the camera. “Wayne, please send me a stick!”
Alex Ovechkin was totally electric in overtime. After the Caps blew a three-goal lead, Washington’s captain carried his team out of Verizon Center with an exhilirating finish.
