Rudy Carlson might have only been a month-old when his dad, John Carlson, won the Stanley Cup, but he clearly remembers something from that moment in time.
Why do I say that? Because Saturday morning, Gina Carlson shared an adorable video where Rudy makes a serious mess on their mug while mom feeds the family’s newborn son, Sawyer.
Sawyer Carlson, John Carlson’s third son, was born on November 30 at 11:30 am.
Four days later, the eight-pound, nine-ounce baby boy got to go home with mom.

The earworm song must have earworm’d into John Carlson’s brain because during the family’s bye week vacation in Florida, the Capitals defenseman sang the song to his youngest son.
Except, he changed the lyrics.
After losing their fourth preseason game to the Canes 5-1, the Capitals were given Saturday off to rest. That didn’t mean they stayed off the ice.
TJ Oshie and John Carlson were both at MedStar Capitals Iceplex with their children. Jakub Vrana and Andre Burakovsky skated with youth hockey players.

Ahead of Game Five of the second round in the Capitals’ run for the Stanley Cup, Gina and John Carlson welcomed their second son, Rudy, into the world.
On July 4, while Carlson was celebrating his day with the Stanley Cup in Bethesda, Rudy turned two-months-old.
Of course, when the opportunity presented itself, how could they resist putting Rudy in the Cup?
