Gina and John Carlson put their son Rudy in the Stanley Cup and it’s too cute

Ahead of Game Five of the second round in the Capitals’ run for the Stanley Cup, Gina and John Carlson welcomed their second son, Rudy, into the world.

On July 4, while Carlson was celebrating his day with the Stanley Cup in Bethesda, Rudy turned two-months-old.

Of course, when the opportunity presented itself, how could they resist putting Rudy in the Cup?

The photo was snapped while Carlson and the Cup made a quick stop at home, before heading back out to a private party at Salt Line in Navy Yard. Rudy also napped next to the Cup before he was placed inside it.

Carlson wasn’t the only one to place his kid in the Cup. Assistant equipment manager David Marin put his 10-week-old daughter inside the bowl, during his day with the Stanley Cup in Arlington, Virginia.

We doubt this will be the last kid we’ll see inside the Stanley Cup as it continues to make the rounds through the Capitals organization.
