Over the last year, local artist Taylor Kampa Olson has painted stunning portraits for many Capitals players’ families, including Nicklas Backstrom and Ted Leonsis. This time around, Taylor worked with Julie Eller to surprise Lars Eller with portrait of the Eller family at the Stanley Cup parade.
“Lars and the fam! I love working with my clients’ imaginations,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “Julie Eller had a picture of the family from the Caps parade day, but The Capitol was tiny and far away, her face was half hidden behind her daughter, they were wearing hats and sunglasses and were in the middle of a bunch of people on a stage. This is what she had in mind and I loved bringing it to life!”
