Longtime Capitals season ticket holder, Pat Sajak, to retire after 41st season hosting Wheel of Fortune

Pat Sajak, 76, will retire after filming one final season of Wheel of Fortune beginning in the fall.

A behemoth of the game-show industry, the world-famous personality will end his reign as host after 41 seasons.

“Well, the time has come,” Sajak posted on social media. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”

The Capitals gave renewing season ticket holders a piece of the net Alex Ovechkin scored his 800th career goal on

The Washington Capitals had a great gift for fans who renewed their season tickets for next year.

The team presented those fans with a framed piece of the net that Alex Ovechkin scored his milestone 800th career goal on.

Capitals fan Alexander O’Reilly was kind enough to share photos of the piece.

How the pandemic has changed things for Capitals’ season-ticket holders: ‘I’m supposed to be there but I can’t’

When a community is hurting and in need of hope and inspiration, sports is a platform where people can come together and unite during dark times. In 1980, the Miracle On Ice gave hope to our country during a tough economic and political time.

This past year, and especially in the past few months, our country has been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic while also dealing with the stress and dangerous aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

As the NHL is preparing for the start of the new 2021 season, the thought of having a hockey game to watch at night is bringing a little bit of normalcy back to the hockey community, especially the season-ticket holders (STH’ers).

Capitals tell season ticket holders they’re ‘hopeful for the potential to host fans’ at some point during the 2020-21 season

The Washington Capitals messaged their season-ticket holder base on Tuesday morning. The Capitals addressed the uncertainty of the 2020-21 season which is expected to begin on January 13 and feature a 56-game schedule.

According to the team, fans will not be allowed into the building at the beginning of the season due to the worsening coronavirus pandemic, but the team holds out hope they will be able to open up Capital One Arena at some point later in the year.

Washington Capitals offering refunds, credits towards 2020-21 season to season-ticket holders

The Washington Capitals reached out to season-ticket holders on Thursday morning addressing the suspended 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, per multiple messages and emails sent to RMNB by fans. The email comes nearly two months after the season was shuttered. The Capitals are offering season-ticket holders credits towards the 2020-21 season with a bonus three percent credit from the team. If that’s not satisfactory, the team is also offering refunds.

The news comes on the heels of the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers announcing their own plans.

The Washington Capitals will be going to mobile-only tickets starting in the 2020 postseason

Ted Leonsis’s Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced Wednesday morning that the organization will be shifting to mobile-only tickets at Capital One Arena in 2020. Right now, Capitals season ticket holders either use a physical book of tickets or a digital solution to enter games.

The new policy will be first implemented for Capitals and Washington Wizards games during the 2020 postseason. Any concerts or shows announced at Capital One Arena after January 1, 2020, will also be mobile-only.

Nearly all available tickets for the Capitals banner raising ceremony are more expensive than a Playstation 4

On Tuesday, the Washington Capitals released single game tickets ahead of general sale for season-ticket holders. The home opener, against the Boston Bruins on October 3rd, was one of the games made available. There were some restrictions on purchasing home opener tickets, due to the Stanley Cup banner raising ceremony being held that night, which included no discounts off the door price, and a two ticket limit.

However, when tickets did become available for season-ticket holders to purchase, there appeared to be another barrier to entry for Capitals fans: the cost. In some cases, almost a 400% increase in price from the usual face value expected for tickets was implemented.

The Capitals’ Stanley Cup Final ticket presale sold out within three hours

On Tuesday morning, the Capitals released Stanley Cup Final tickets to season-ticket holders via a presale. The tickets were made available in a loyalty level system, with the longest tenured ticket holders having the first time slots.

The Stanley Cup Final tickets were essentially sold out after the first time slot, with only single tickets available for Saturday’s game showing up during noon. Around 1:30, an email was sent out to ticket holders saying the presale was officially sold out.

Caps season tickets are getting more expensive in the upper levels, most 100-level seats won’t change

The Capitals on Monday announced season-ticket renewal prices for the 2018-2019 season, along with some new incentive programs including an opportunity for season-ticket holders to get a stick autographed by Alex Ovechkin.

Most sections of the newly renamed Capital One Arena will see modest price increases in the 2018-2019 season, with an average increase of about 5.7 percent. The club now offers 35 different price tiers based on location in the arena, with the average pricing tier being $113.
