One of the wildest days on the NHL offseason calendar is upon us: the opening of free agency.

At 12:00 pm ET, unrestricted free agents without contracts can officially sign with their team of choice. This year’s class of free agents is shallow, headlined by veterans like John Carlson, Sergei Bobrovsky, Anthony Mantha, Patrick Kane, Claude Giroux, Rasmus Andersson, Jacob Trouba, Vladimir Tarasenko, Anders Lee, Mats Zuccarello, and Mason Marchment.

From the Washington Capitals alone, outside of captain Alex Ovechkin, the team will see Brandon Duhaime, Trevor van Riemsdyk, Sonny Milano, Brett Leason, Henrik Rybinski, Wyatt Bongiovanni, Ryan Hofer, Corey Schueneman, Jesper Vikman, and Garin Bjorklund all hit the open market.
