Frederic is a former Bruins first-round pick, drafted 29th overall by Boston in the 2016 NHL Draft. The 26-year-old forward recorded a career-high 40 points (18g, 22a) last season and is in the final year of the two-year, $4.6 million extension he signed with Boston in 2023. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
In 57 games this year, he has recorded just 15 points (8g, 7a). Frederic is currently on injured reserve, listed as out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
The Washington Capitals were previously rumored to have interest in acquiring the versatile forward. Frederic can play both wing and center and has thrown 155 hits this season.
Trent Frederic, acquired by EDM, is a physical scoring winger who checks, forechecks, and battles. Scores most of his goals by jumping on loose pucks in the inner slot. Mostly a bottom sixer but can retrieve pucks for skilled linemates. #LetsGoOilers pic.twitter.com/lHeDTNBHdx

Hauser, a two-time World Juniors participant for Czechia, was selected by the Devils in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft. The 21-year-old Czech forward has spent the past three seasons playing in the Czech Extraliga with Sparta Praha, Skoda Plzen, and Vitkovice Ridera.
