Capitals promotional schedule highlighted by Alex Ovechkin remix bobblehead, Cherry Blossom hat, and ‘GR8 Ball’

Have you ever waffled on a decision and wondered, “What would Alex Ovechkin do?” Well, now you *might* know with your very own “GR8 Ball” — a Washington Capitals’ all-fans giveaway item during the 2026-27 regular season.

Would it be a mistake to tell her I like her? I’m almost out of gas — should I risk it for another exit? Will my peak athletic performance only come after eating a foot-long Italian sub and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos?

“THE GR8 SAYS YES,” is one of several answers the Capitals’ Ovechkin-themed take on a Magic 8 Ball will provide.

The Ovechkin keepsake is available on January 23 against the New York Rangers, and is one of 15 different giveaways the Washington Capitals announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Other notable giveaway items as part of the team’s promotional calendar include an Alex Tuch-designed hat, an Alex Ovechkin remix bobblehead (potentially playing off the team’s upcoming Hometown Remix jersey), an iced coffee cup, a hockey rink butter dish, and a positive affirmation button.

There are also 29 different theme nights and 19 different ticket offers. Hockey Fights Cancer Night will be held on November 19 against the Buffalo Sabres, while Pride Night is returning on January 19 and features a Pride tank top available in a special ticket offer.

Other notable special ticket offers include a Dylan Strome “Strometrooper” bobblehead, an Oktoberfest beer stein, and a cherry blossom hat.

The Capitals will also offer a number of special ticket packages throughout the season, each featuring an exclusive item or experience tied to that night’s theme. Season-ticket members will be able to purchase the items separately without buying an additional game ticket. More details will be announced at a later date.
