Lacey Eden will be rocking a new set of digits on her jersey for PWHL Las Vegas this upcoming season.
With her college number (#6) and Team USA number (#7) taken by more veteran players, Katy Knoll and Madison Bizal, Eden has gone with the next best thing, which will be thrilling for younger hockey fans.
Eden is combining her two previous choices and donning number 67 during the expansion franchise’s inaugural 2026-27 campaign.
The number 67 has taken on new meaning over the past year, as today’s youth have turned it into a now-famous hand gesture in which someone moves their hands up and down with palms facing upward. Several athletes, including Washington Capitals defenseman Cole Hutson, have taken the gesture into their respective sports, using it as a celebration.
The phenomenon originated as an Internet meme primarily popularized on TikTok, stemming from a drill rap song titled “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Philadelphia-based rapper Skrilla. The song went viral after being featured in many basketball highlight video edits, especially those showcasing Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall.
Eden has showcased the meme and done the hand gesture several times, particularly on her own TikTok account. She even highlighted a social media post her mom made, where Eden’s Wisconsin and USA jerseys were placed side by side to form the number 67.

Eden, an Annapolis, MD native, has spent her offseason back home, playing area summer league hockey, leading a hockey camp for girls, and throwing out two ceremonial first pitches at baseball games. In June, she became the first Maryland-born player ever selected in the PWHL Draft, getting selected fifth overall by PWHL Las Vegas.
The 2026-27 PWHL season is expected to start in late November, with schedules released in early October.
