Lacey Eden, one of the most accomplished Maryland-born hockey players of all time, was honored at Friday’s Chesapeake Baysox game for Women in Sports Night.
Eden met with fans and threw out the ceremonial first pitch, delivering a high strike over the plate.
In March, Eden made history by becoming the first women’s hockey player to win four NCAA national championships as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers. Months later, she became the first Maryland-born player ever selected at the PWHL Draft, getting selected fifth overall by Las Vegas.
Eden has also previously won two gold medals as a member of the United States national team in 2023 and 2025, as well as three silver medals in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
Friday’s game also featured the Baysox suiting up as their alternate identity, the Chesapeake Oyster Catchers, as well as a giveaway of Supergirl Cape Socks to the first 1,000 fans ages 3 and over.
Chesapeake lost to the Hartford Yard Goats 7-3 at Prince George’s Stadium.
