What could possibly be better than seeing Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin on the cover of the Washington Post Express ahead of Game One on Thursday night?
If you answered “two Alex Ovechkins,” you would be absolutely correct.
To illustrate the beginning of the Capitals’ bid to reclaim their Stanley Cup champions title in back-to-back years, they doubled up The Great 8 on the cover of Thurday’s edition of the Express, hoisting the Cup overhead.

This isn’t the first time that the Washington Post Express has been creative with their covers. Ahead of the Capitals match-up against the Pittsburgh Penguins in December, Ovechkin featured once again, this time with a shadow in the shape of Superman. They’ve also showcased nervous fan, the Lincoln Memorial, biting his nails, put Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’ in a Caps jersey, and crossed over the Capitals with “The Hangover.”
You can pick up your copy of the Washington Post Express featuring the double Ovechkin cover today.
