Washington Post Express cover shows Alex Ovechkin with a Superman shadow

It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Alex Ovechkin loosely depicted as Superman on the cover of the Washington Post Express!

It’s no secret that the Captain of the Washington Capitals has been having a remarkable season thus far, so on Wednesday the Washington Post Express decided to illustrate on their cover exactly how we’re all feeling about Ovi’s current play. He’s a superhero.

The Washington Post Express has a long history of doing a great job showing how DC Sports fans feel about the team. They’ve done the Lincoln Memorial biting his nails, Caps fans in Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, and some of the guys in red as the cast of “The Hangover”. It’s nice to finally see a cover where Caps fans are not overly anxious and nobody is worried about the current Capitals’ performance. In fact, the article by Ben Raby outlines how magical it is it watch Alex Ovechkin play now, some of Ovechkin’s recent stats, and what you should be looking forward to see during tonight’s match-up against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
