Andre Burakovsky and Madison Bowey slot back into lineup against St. Louis Blues

After serving brief stints out of the lineup and fighting to get back in, both Andre Burakovsky and Madison Bowey will make their returns to the ice tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

Burakovsky has missed two games and last played on January 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers, while Bowey has missed five games since January 3.

Bowey and Burakovsky have both served prolonged stints in the press box. Bowey missed a sizable chunk of games starting in October that lasted 23 days, and Burakovsky missed 13 days in December before returning to the lineup. Coach Todd Reirden mentioned that Burakovsky’s most recent time in the press box came because “it’s a competitive situation and I thought some other guys deserved to be in a little bit more right now.”

Pheonix Copley will get the nod in goal after Braden Holtby was jabbed in eye during Saturday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Jake Allen will start for the Blues, which is unfortunate because had Jordan Binnington got the nod, Copley would have had the chance to fight him again.

Tonight’s game against the Blues marks defenseman Brooks Orpik’s 1000th career NHL game, making him just the 330th player in NHL history to hit the milestone.
