NHL Network to air remainder of Hershey Bears’ Calder Cup Finals games

For Capitals fans out of the DMV area wanting to watch the Hershey Bears’ deep postseason run, they now will have opportunity to watch on TV.

With the Stanley Cup Finals over and the Vegas Golden Knights champions, the NHL Network will air the rest of the Calder Cup Finals between the Coachella Valley Firebirds and Hershey Bears.

The first game to air on NHL Network will be Game Four from Giant Center on Thursday night.

Alex Ovechkin named top winger in league by NHL Network

Alex Ovechkin led the Washington Capitals in points and was one of only four players to score 50 goals last season. But that awesome age-36 performance was not enough to land Ovechkin on either the first or second end-of-season All-Star teams as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association. In fact, if you unscientifically tally voter points amongst left and right wings, Ovechkin’s 27 points ranked him as the ninth-best winger, trailing Johnny Gaudreau (779), Mitch Marner (697), Jonathan Huberdeau (584), Matthew Tkachuk (543), Mikko Rantanen (341), Kirill Kaprizov (297), Patrick Kane (48), and David Pastrnak (37).

The NHL Network’s 2022 Top 20 Wingers list disagrees. On Sunday, the channel gave Ovechkin the top spot.

Henrik Lundqvist on why he needed open-heart surgery, how being a hockey player prepared him for the fight of his life

Henrik Lundqvist sat down with former New York Rangers’ teammate Kevin Weekes for a powerful three-part interview, which is airing on NHL Network Tuesday through Thursday. In part one of the chat, Lundqvist spoke for 12 minutes about being bought out by the New York Rangers, signing with the Washington Capitals, and learning that he’d need open-heart surgery.

Lundqvist said that he first learned that he needed the procedure done as he was about to pack to leave for Washington DC ahead of the 2020-21 season.

NHL Network names Alex Ovechkin the fourth-best winger in hockey

The NHL Network is out with its annual rankings of the best players at each position “right now.”

Despite tying for the league lead in goals (48) with David Pastrnak, Alex Ovechkin has dropped a spot from last year.

Former Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau joins NHL Network as analyst for remainder of 2020 playoffs

Bruce Boudreau will share his gift of gab with all of us during the 2020 playoffs. Tuesday, the NHL Network announced that the former Capitals head coach will join the station as a guest analyst for the rest of the postseason.

Boudreau has made cameos several times as an NHL analyst since being fired as Minnesota Wild head coach on Valentine’s Day, including a spot on Sportsnet’s Trade Deadline show.

Boudreau will debut on NHL Tonight at 5:30 PM.

NHL Network names Eric Fehr to their All Winter Classic Team

The NHL Network named former Capitals forward Eric Fehr to its All Winter Classic Team on Wednesday along with Henrik Zetterberg, Vladimir Tarasenko, Duncan Keith, Kris Letang, and Henrik Lundqvist.

The segment was aired on the NHL Network’s pregame show before the 2020 Winter Classic between the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars.

Here is the live TV schedule to watch games in the 2020 World Junior Championship

Washington Capitals prospect Connor McMichael will play in his first career World Junior Championship game for Team Canada today at 1 PM against Team USA. The game will be aired live on NHL Network across the United States.

Four of Canada’s preliminary round games total will be aired on NHL Network before the knockout round begins. Meanwhile, three of the Czech Republic’s games will be aired on TV which features Capitals draft pick and Czech defenseman Martin Hugo Has. The Czechs won their first game of the tournament this morning against Russia 4-3.

NHL Network previews Washington Capitals’ season: ‘They are a legitimate–again–Stanley Cup contender’

The NHL’s “31 in 31” series have done their analysis of the Washington Capitals.

Senior writer for NHL.com Dan Rosen and Mike Johnson of the NHL Network talk about the Capitals’ recent postseason exit, their offseason alterations, and the effect that could have on the upcoming 2019-20 season.

The takeaway? “No question about it,” Rosen said, “the Washington Capitals: playoff team again.”

RMNB was on NHL Network. We discussed Tom Wilson’s suspension, the Caps winning the Stanley Cup, and Ilya Samsonov.

Friday, I was asked to join the NHL Network for a live TV interview. Jackie Redmond, who is very good at her job, asked me some very good questions and, other than me hating my face and the fact that I accidentally cut off part of the RMNB sign in the background, I think it went well.

So yeah, watch it for yourself and please be kind. I’m fragile.
