Gerardo Parra was only a part-time player, but he had an oversized role with the Washington Nationals during their championship season. The Venezuelan outfielder is widely credited for turning the Nationals’ season around with his walkup song, the viral children’s tune Baby Shark.
Friday, Parra commemorated the Nationals’ World Series-wining season in the most permanent way possible. The two-time gold glover got a Nationals’ championship tattoo inked on his left forearm.
And it’ll make you want to chomp with both of your arms.

The tattoo features baby shark, wearing Parra’s signature Bubly red sunglasses, sitting inside the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Washington Nationals’ World Series logo sits at the top of the illustration which has a background scene of Nationals Park.

The tattoo took approximately 10 hours to complete and was created by Miami-based tattoo artist Luis Gil.
Unfortunately, the Baby Shark era in Washington DC is likely over. Parra left the Nationals and signed a free-agent contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
But we will always have the pictures, the bobbleheads, the merch, and the videos.
