Like an NHL enforcer, the Washington Nationals have a long memory and Tuesday, the Nats Twitter savagely roasted Bryce Harper in the most subtle way possible.
It’s brilliant. You’ll appreciate it. I promise.

The Nats tweeted a video that had a caption of “We want to bring a title back to DC.” That seems innocuous enough, right? They just want to win a championship for their fans.

Where this becomes a burn (that will requirea lot of aloe to be applied) is when you think back to Bryce Harper’s first press conference as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. Bryce had a slip up, saying “We want to bring a title back to D.C.”

That’s an ouch. That’s a big ouchie.
Bryce has not been too far from Nationals fans’ minds for all of October. Fans have taped over their old Harper jerseys and saluted their former MVP.
I love how Nationals fans get creative with Bryce Harper jerseys instead of burning them #STLvsWSH pic.twitter.com/HL6FqrVw9I

Only appropriate to wear this to tonight's game… As Bryce Harper once said "We want to bring a title back to D.C" @Nationals @bryceharper3 pic.twitter.com/IGmGjvPxKj

I have 330 million reasons not to feel sorry for Bryce, but I really do right now. I hope you enjoy watching the game from home, bud.
