Like an NHL enforcer, the Washington Nationals have a long memory and Tuesday, the Nats Twitter savagely roasted Bryce Harper in the most subtle way possible.

After being drafted first overall selection in the 2010 MLB draft and spending the first seven years of his MLB career in Washington, Bryce Harper appeared at Nationals Park for the first time in a visiting team’s jersey.
Harper failed to come to terms with the Nationals after two reported offers, and ultimately signed with the Philadelphia Phillies for a 13-year $330 million contract at the end of February.
Harper was greeted by boos during a pregame video tribute. Harper was booed as he was introduced to the crowd before his first at bat. Harper struck out against Nationals ace Max Scherzer. The crowd cheered! Harper was then booed as he ran out to right field.
Basically, it’s been a big giant boo fest.

On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia Flyers played their first game at home since the Phillies signed former Nationals right fielder, Bryce Harper, to a 13-year, $330 million contract. That game just happened to coincide with Harper’s former home, Washington, coming to town.
In a move that was likely meant to rile up Capitals fans, Gritty led the charge in welcoming Harper to the Philadelphia sports family. But Capitals radio’s John Walton trolled back in epic fashion during his play-by-play of the game.

Bryce Harper was introduced to the media as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, after signing a 13-year, $330 million contract.
Harper leaving DC was anticipated as early as February by Capitals players. Tom Wilson revealed to media members at MedStar Capitals Iceplex that Bryce unfollowed most members of the team on Twitter.
“I know a couple of us got the unfollow the other day so I don’t know if that’s writing on the wall or what,” Wilson said. “He’s been a leader in this city for a long time. I know he kinda jumped the Caps ship with the Vegas bandwagon there with where he’s from, but it’s always been fun, and I’m sure he’s going to make the best decision for him and his family and his future.”
Friday, after reports emerged that Harper had signed with rival Philadelphia, Wilson and Nicklas Backstrom commented on the former NL MVP leaving DC.
Hockey players are just like you. They’re also sensitive about their follower counts on social media.
Monday after the Capitals morning skate, Capitals forward Tom Wilson revealed that he lost a high profile follow on Twitter recently: Bryce Harper.
Harper, the Washington Nationals MVP outfielder, is currently the MLB’s biggest free agent remaining as spring training opens up this week. Reports suggest that the San Franciso Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Nats are the most likely teams to land the star slugger’s services.
Wilson, however, seems skeptical Harper will return to Washington.

On the heels of winning a thrilling Homerun Derby, Bryce Harper got a taste of what being a champion of an individual event was like at his home ballpark. Now he has a strong take about the atmosphere surrounding a potential Nationals’ World Series win.
In an interview with ESPN’s Karl Ravech, Harper said that a Nationals’ World Series win and resulting celebration would be “about 10 times better” than the Caps’ Stanley Cup.
Due to an off day, several Washington Nationals players were able to be in attendance for Game Four of the Stanley Cup Final between the Washington Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights. While Max Scherzer and Ryan Zimmerman had the time of their life rocking the red with fans, Las Vegas, Nevada-native Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla both looked glum after watching their favorite hockey team lose its third-straight game in person.
The Golden Knights now face elimination Thursday during Game Five at T-Mobile Arena.

Former MLB MVP and Las Vegas native Bryce Harper is a very optimistic, positive hockey fan.
I say this because Bryce is tweeting about his daydreams of a Caps-Golden Knights Stanley Cup Final – no matter how unlikely.
Thursday night, the Washington Capitals will compete in a pivotal Game Four against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena. With a win, the Caps will tie their first-round series at two games a piece and try to take the series lead at Capital One Arena on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, a huge hockey fan himself, has made it known via a tribute on his bat that he’s rooting hard for his favorite hockey team…
While Bryce Harper may have wore an Alex Tuch VGK jersey during the ceremonial puck drop, he didn’t forget his roots to Washington, DC.
Harper, who also wore an old school Washington hat, praised Braden Holtby on social media.
