The 2019 Stanley Cup Final between the Boston Bruins and St Louis Blues got underway on Monday night. The Blues shot out to an early hot start, but were eventually doomed by discipline issues and a fiery Bruins comeback.
The Bruins out-shot the Blues 38 to 20.

- The Bruins trailed in this game for more time than they did in the entirety of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes (13:08).
- This is the first time in franchise history that Boston has overcome a multi goal deficit to win a Stanley Cup Final game.
- The Bruins have now won eight games in a row, outscoring opponents 32-11 during that streak that dates back to Game Four of the second round against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

- Brad Marchand‘s sixth career Stanley Cup Final goal for the Bruins is tied for fourth most in franchise history, behind Wayne Cashman (7), Bobby Orr (8), and Johnny Bucyk (8).
- The Bruins were led statistically by a fantastic effort from their forward line of Jake DeBrusk, David Krejci, and David Backes. When DeBrusk was on the ice at five-on-five, the Bruins out-attempted the Blues 14 to 3, out-shot them 6 to 0, and out-scoring chanced them 5 to 0.
- On the flip side, the Blues got pummeled when their top defenseman Alex Pietrangelo was on the ice at five-on-five. Out-attempted 17 to 8, out-shot 13 to 4, and out-scoring chanced 8 to 1.
