We’re back home for a new best-of-three series. The Hurricanes really owned the last two games on their own ice, so let’s see what happens now that the Capitals get last change again.
Puck drop is at 8 PM, and you can stream the game using the My Teams app. Pete here on the ones and twos for your recap and in-game fun stuff.

Projected Lines
With TJ Oshie out, Reirden’s made some big decisions:
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson
Vrana – Kuznetsov – Hagelin
Burakovsky – Eller – Connolly
Stephenson – Dowd – DSP
Siegenthaler – Carlson
Orlov – Niskanen
Orpik – Jensen
Holtby
What DSP Brings
That is a fun video to watch.
Storylines
- The Capitals have recalled Devante Smith-Pelly.
- TJ Oshie is out. For a while.
- Warren Foegele will not be suspended for injuring Oshie.
- Jordan Martinook joins Andrei Svechnikov among Carolina’s injured.
- We keep learning more about the Ovechkin vs Schvechkinov fight.
- Julia has some thoughts about how the neutral zone is a big problem for the Caps this series. This is a must read, IMO.
- The Avs have eliminated the Flames.
- Aaron Ness suffered a major and gruesome injury in Hershey on Friday night. He’s going to be fine, but that’s about as scary as it gets without there being, like, arterial spray.
- Ovi seems loose. I like it. P.S. did you know he’s a freak? (Yes, you probably already did.)
Happy Holidays
It’s Passover and Easter and Mid-Sha’ban. That’s a whole bunch of religious stuff happening this weekend, and all of it about the general idea of forgiveness. I hope you have a lovely weekend, and maybe you should keep forgiveness in mind next time I do a bad tweet.
Now he’s Bunny Chara.
P.S. ham is an F-tier protein. There. I said it.
