After the Capitals won the Stanley Cup, fans tried to grab any memorabilia related to the win, including buckets, bobbleheads, and a book chronicling the journey.
One thing that Capitals owner Ted Leonsis was able to get was a hand-painted family portrait featuring the trophy, commissioned to local artist Taylor Kampa Olson.
The painting features a championship-hat-wearing Alex Ovechkin holding up the Stanley Cup with Ted while Leonsis’s wife Lynn, his daughter Elle, and his son Zach smile in the background.
Tell me if I’m wrong, but Ovi looks like Ted’s long lost other son.
After showing followers through how her painting came together on her Instagram, Ted requested a second portrait so he could have two: one for his office and one for his home.
The viral artist also painted a reproduction of the Capitals championship photo for Caps Casino Night.
