A first look at the Capitals’ 2019 Canine Calendar

The Washington Capitals gave a potential preview of their 2019 Dog Calendar during the team’s nationally-broadcast game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

NBCSN’s Mike Emrick walked Capitals fans through three photos, including what appears to the cover: three puppies in the Stanley Cup.

“It’s calendar time!” Emrick said. “Hockey teams partner at this time of year with animal organizations. Look at those pups! The Capitals calendar has a Stanley Cup theme. TJ Oshie and his dog Charlie and Old Stanley are there. And Lars Eller and Nicklas Backstrom. You can order a calendar beginning the night before Thanksgiving for $20 at monumentalfoundation.org.”

As shown in the video, the calendar will be more in the shape of a magazine unlike in years past.

The Capitals previously announced in the fall that the calendar would be available starting on November 21.

All proceeds of the calendar will benefit Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.
