The Stanley Cup’s tour around DC today included a photo op with Patrick Ewing and Ben’s Chili Bowl

The Capitals regular season starts tonight against the Boston Bruins, and that means one last adventure around the District for the Stanley Cup.

The first stop was Georgetown University, where NBA Hall-of-Famer and Georgetown basketball head coach Patrick Ewing got the first photos with the Cup.

Extremely good boy Jack the Bulldog also got an opportunity to pose with the trophy.

The next stop was the Lincoln Memorial, and Honest Abe looks pretty great with the Cup.

The next landmark the trophy made it to was the U Street institution Ben’s Chili Bowl.

This isn’t the first time the Cup has made an appearance with hot dogs if we all remember this gem from Phil Kessel.

The Cup returned to the National Mall, where the crew rolled in style and snapped photos with the Washington Monument and the Capitol.

The final stop was the National Portrait Gallery steps, where fans flooded to watch the final game.

Friendly reminder of what the steps looked like on June 7, the year of our lord 2018.

In addition to all those stops, fans received free tickets to the home opener along the way.
