The Metro will stay open an hour later for Game Five in the first time that it has ever expanded its hours for an away game

The deal with Monumental Sports and Entertainment marks the first time that the Metro has ever extended its hours for an away game.

Caps fans will be able to leave the festivities happening at Capital One Arena through three stations: Gallery Place, Metro Center (11th & G street entrance only) or Judiciary Square (F Street entrance only). All other stations in DC will be exit only after the Metro’s regular closing time.

More from WMATA:

Metro and Monumental Sports and Entertainment today announced special late-night rail service to accommodate fans attending the official Caps Game 5 watch party at the Capital One Arena and surrounding streets around Gallery Place. Trains will run a full hour beyond Metro’s regular weeknight closing time thanks to the Monumental partnership, which covers the $100,000 in additional expenses associated with keeping the 234-mile, 91-station transit system open.

The agreement is the first time the Metrorail system has ever extended hours for an away game as the Capitals stand one win away from their first-ever Stanley Cup win.

“We are grateful that Monumental has stepped in to support the Caps, Metro and – most importantly – the fans,” said Metro General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Paul J. Wiedefeld. “I’m proud to say we’re in full ‘ALL CAPS’ mode at Metro, ready to do our part to provide great service before and after the game.”

After Metro’s regular closing time, Caps fans can enter the system at three stations: Gallery Place, Metro Center (11th & G street entrance only) or Judiciary Square (F Street entrance only). All other stations will be “exit only.”

RED to Glenmont 12:38 a.m.; Shady Grove 12:32 a.m.

GREEN to Branch Ave 12:28 a.m.; Greenbelt 12:48 a.m.

YELLOW Huntington 12:19 a.m.
