The Washington Capitals will be giving away specially designed rally towels again tonight for Game Four.
The Capitals are partnering with WMATA to promote the DC Metro.
A year after honoring the Washington Capitals with a commemorative SmarTrip card (that we helped create), WMATA is doing the same for the Washington Nationals.
The Nationals’ World Series Champion SmarTrip cards are available for $10 and come preloaded with $8 worth of Metro fare. As with all SmarTrip cards, Metro charges $2 to to cover the cost of production.
After the viewing party for Game Five sold out in just minutes, the Metro has announced that the system will stay open one hour later than normal when the Capitals have the chance to win it all on Thursday night.
The deal with Monumental Sports and Entertainment marks the first time that the Metro has ever extended its hours for an away game.
With all the DC road closures, it seems that TJ Oshie and Matt Niskanen will be taking the Metro into DC again tomorrow evening. After a generous donation from Xfinity, the Metro will now stay open one hour later to make sure everyone gets home after Game Four.
