The Washington Capitals have now gone over 145 minutes without scoring a single goal. Getting shutout in back to back games will do that for you. They have an opponent tonight in the Boston Bruins that they own recent great success against so it’s time to get back to winning ways.
We have another later national TV start with the puck dropping at 7:30 PM on NBCSN. Peter has your recap.

Projected Lines
Chandler Stephenson is over the flu, but there is no indication that tonight’s lineup will be any different, other than Braden Holtby returning to the net, from yesterday’s due to this game being the backend of a back to back.
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson
Vrana – Kuznetsov – Oshie
Connolly – Eller – Burakovsky
DSP – Beagle – Chiasson
Orpik – Carlson
Orlov – Niskanen
Djoos – Bowey
Holtby

Storylines
- Philipp Grubauer was sensational last night. It was nice to see him dominate and would have been nicer to see him earn a shutout in a win rather than a shootout loss.
- Alex Ovechkin met Spanish soccer star, Gerard Pique after yesterday’s game. Must have been fun for Ovi as he’s known to support FC Barcelona, Pique’s team.
- In a move that most expected, the Caps have sent Nathan Walker back to Hershey.
- After a night on the pine battling Henrik Lundqvist in a hair vs hair match, Braden Holtby returns to your local Washington DC hockey net.
Favorites of 2017
I’m a sucker for crime drama and especially good crime drama based on a true story. I was even surprised by how good Manhunt: Unabomber was though when I found it on Netflix. Definitely one of my favorite Netflix watches of the year.
