Hershey Bears hire Spencer Carbery, 36, as new head coach. He will be the second youngest coach in the AHL.
Tuesday morning, the Hershey Bears announced that Spencer Carbery will be the team’s next head coach.
Carbery, who played four years professionally, has familiarity with the Capitals system. He spent five seasons as the head coach of the ECHL South Carolina Sting Rays (2011-2016) before becoming the bench boss of the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit for the 2016-17 campaign. Carbery was promoted to the AHL level and was an assistant coach for the Providence Bruins last season.
Carbery becomes the second-youngest current head coach in the AHL behind only Rockford’s Jeremy Colliton.
