Capitals goaltenders show off new Stadium Series-themed masks and Weagle-branded goalie gear

The Washington Capitals revealed their uniforms on Thursday for their upcoming Stadium Series game against the Carolina Hurricanes. New team uniforms mean that the squad’s goaltending duo must break out a new set of gear to match.

Charlie Lindgren and Darcy Kuemper have begun to do just that at recent practices. Each goaltender has a new mask and Lindgren also recently showcased his new blocker, glove, and pads. Given the theme of the jerseys, it all features the team’s Weagle logo rather prominently.

The Capitals have released some cool photos of all that gear nerd goodness.

Photos: Darcy Kuemper shows off new Screaming Eagle-themed mask and Capitals colored pads

Darcy Kuemper had his first mask design as a member of the Washington Capitals revealed by designer Dave Gunnarsson a couple of weeks ago. Since then, DC’s new number one netminder took the ice for the first time rocking not only the mask but also his pad setup for 2022-23.

The Capitals released up-close photos of the mask and his pads on Tuesday.

CCM creates country-inspired pads for World Junior Championship goaltenders

World Junior Championship players are getting some incredible custom-designed skates. CCM also made sure the goalies didn’t feel left out either.

On Monday, CCM released the incredible designs of the pads it made for Team USA’s Dustin Wolf, Finland’s Joel Blomqvist, Team Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany’s Jonas Gaehr, Finland’s Roope Taponen, and Switzerland’s Thibault Fatton.

Henrik Lundqvist’s new pads for the Capitals includes Weagle logo and Capitol Building

Henrik Lundqvist will sport some of the boldest pads in Washington Capitals history when he eventually makes his on-ice debut for his former divisional rival next season.

Hank’s Bauer pads will be white and feature the Weagle logo and the Capitol Building. There are also navy stripes with white stars.
