The NHL’s 32nd franchise, the Seattle Kraken, finally revealed its name on Thursday.
On the team’s website, the Kraken revealed its new logos and its color scheme as well as its first jersey design.
The Maryland Black Bears are Maryland’s only major junior hockey team. A part of the North America Hockey League (NAHL) since 2018, the Black Bears practice and play their home games in Odenton at the Washington Capitals’ former training facility, Piney Orchard Ice Arena, which has been appropriately nicknamed The Den.
After their first two full seasons in the NAHL, the Maryland Black Bears decided to redesign their current jerseys and the result is an even more Maryland-y design than before.
The NHL released their jerseys for the 2020 All-Star Game, Wednesday.
Like last year, each Division team will have a set of grey (home) and white (away) jerseys. Each sweater comes stitched with the player’s team logo overtop stripes (music lines).

On Thursday, the team announced that their popular Black Skate jerseys would be worn three times during the 2019-20 season to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a franchise. It will not be brought back after next season – so enjoy it while it lasts!
Prior to tonight’s game against the NY Islanders, the Caps will be sporting St. Patrick’s Day themed warmup jerseys for the team’s annual Go Green Night. The jerseys will be auctioned off, with all the proceeds benefiting the Anacostia Watershed Society and the Anacostia Waterfront Trust.
On Monday, we received a photo that gave us a potential leak of the designs for the new Caps Stadium Series jersey. Wednesday morning that leak was confirmed to be real, when the Capitals unveiled the uniforms that they’ll be wearing come March in Annapolis.
The team will be sporting a predominantly navy jersey with a shortened Caps logo as the crest. The sweaters also feature red and white stripes. According to the team, “the overall design aesthetic pays homage to the U.S. Navy and highlights key elements of the Capitals’ identity.”
The Washington Capitals new sweater has minimal changes. While none of the team’s logos were changed, the team’s secondary Weagle logo was moved up higher on the shoulder. There is also a stripe pointing towards the collar and different striping down the arm and midsection. Meanwhile, the NHL’s shield has been redesigned and is now more embossed and texturized.
Reebok’s V neckline has been removed in favor of a more of a circular drooping collar. The jerseys, which are made with a more breathable mesh fabric, are less structured and free form than last year’s jerseys.

On Monday, we covered the Russian national team’s extravagant event where they released their new Olympic jerseys. The sweaters, modeled by Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and women’s player Alexandra Kapustina, looked totally awesome from afar. Now, Nike has released promotional pics of their own that focus in on the details of the sweaters. They’re pretty impressive. And once again, Sasha is modeling for them.
On Monday, the Russian Hockey Federation held a glitzy presentation at Sokolniki Ice Hall in Moscow to show off the new jerseys that the Russian men’s and women’s hockey teams will wear at the upcoming Sochi Olympics.
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was selected to model the jerseys along with Alexandra Kapustina from the women’s team. Legendary Soviet goalie Vladislav Tretyak emceed the event.
