With his third Stanley Cup, Penguins’ Sidney Crosby has become an all-time great

NASHVILLE — Sidney Crosby calmly walked through the bland, gray event level at Bridgestone Arena carrying 34 and a half pounds of silver. He shuffled through the hallways, finally reaching the narrow passageway that leads to the visitors locker room.

The best hockey player in the world right now was carrying the Stanley Cup, the most famous trophy in sports, waiting to celebrate with his teammates. But a crowd was gathered outside the Pittsburgh Penguins’ room. Politely and quietly, Crosby slowly made his way through the horde, careful not to bang into anyone.

Hockey Night In Canada’s season-ending montage brilliantly captures the 2017 postseason

Over the last two months, four rounds of hockey were played to determine a champion – the first team to 16 wins. Along the way, there were a lot of poignant and powerful moments on and off the ice.

Faith Hill sings national anthem, Tim McGraw performs rally towel wave before Game Six

The CMA Music Festival is occurring in Nashville this week and the Predators attracted three of the biggest stars in country music for their pregame festivities.

Three-time Grammy winner Faith Hill sung the national anthem ahead of Game Six following in the footsteps of Martina McBride and Dierks Bentley who performed during Games Three and Four.

Official’s early whistle costs Nashville game-opening goal and Twitter was not happy

1:07 into the second period, Nashville appeared to take an early lead against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game Six.

A heavy snapshot by Filip Forsberg squeaked by Matt Murray. The puck laid uncovered in the crease. As Predators forward Colton Sissons poked the biscuit into the back of the net, the backside official, Kevin Pollock, blew the play dead.

Sidney Crosby basically given free pass after throwing Gatorade bottle, repeatedly shoving PK Subban’s head into ice

Thursday night during Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final, Sidney Crosby got his revenge on PK Subban after #mouthwashgate. He also threw a Gatorade bottle at a Preds player.

During both examples of poor sportsmanship, Crosby was basically given a free pass by NHL officials. Crosby was whistled for matching minors for holding on the Subban melee while he completely avoided a bench minor for the bottle toss.

This Finnish broadcaster yelling during a Pekka Rinne save-sequence is hockey at its best

Pekka Rinne had a rough start to the Stanley Cup Final, stopping only .777 percent of shots throughout the first two games. But since returning home, Rinne is a new man. Riding an electric Predators’ home crowd, Rinne has put up a .961 save percentage and has been practically impenetrable.

During Monday’s Game Four, Rinne made a series of incredible saves that left broadcasters from his home country of Finland screaming into the microphone.

Predators tie series after beating Pittsburgh 4-1 in Game Four of Stanley Cup Final

On Saturday, the Nashville Predators, riding their absolutely electric crowd, destroyed the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 in Game Three. Monday night, the Predators improbably tied the series at two games a piece after scoring two unanswered goals in the second period.

Preds fans throw Penguins-eating, bedazzled-hat-wearing catfish onto ice after Dierks Bentley sings national anthem

The Nashville Predators continued their tradition of having a country music superstar sing the national anthem, trotting out Dierks Bentley ahead of Game Four. But it appears he was upstaged by a more fancy-dressed Preds fan.

PK Subban arrives to Bridgestone Arena with bag full of Listerine, continues #mouthwashgate feud

One of the largest controversies surrounding this 2016-17 Stanley Cup Final has been whether or not Sidney Crosby told PK Subban that his breath smelled bad. The feud has become a bit of a “he said, she said” situation and today we have a development for you.

PK Subban arrived at Bridgestone Arena to prepare for Game Four with one major new accessory…a bag filled with mouthwash.

PK Subban on his postgame conversation with Sidney Crosby: ‘He told me my breath smelled’

After the Predators defeated the Penguins 5-1 in Game Three, a chirping PK Subban escorted two Penguins players off the ice. First, Subban had words with rookie Jake Guentzel before having an animated conversation with the best player in hockey, Sidney Crosby.

Subban was interviewed afterwards by Pierre McGuire and asked about what was said.
