This hard fought series between the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes is going to need at least six games after the Canes won their second in a row on home ice by a score of 2-1. The Caps are left still looking for answers to a young, tenacious bunch that is giving them fits in all three zones.
The Caps out-shot the Canes 31 to 24.

- This was an obviously much better effort than the one the Caps put out in Game Three, but it still wasn’t enough at five-on-five to get a win on the road. They say a team is not in trouble in a playoff series until they lose at home. Lets hope the Caps don’t have to worry about that.
- With his 23rd career playoff power play goal, Alex Ovechkin has tied Joe Nieuwendyk and Brian Bellows for the 24th most power play playoff goals all time.
- The Caps need to find a way to create more goals at even strength. They are going to lose this series if they are depending on the referees calling a playoff game by the actual NHL rulebook.
Alex Ovechkin opens the scoring for the Caps and ties the game 1-1. That's Ovechkin's second goal of the playoffs and 63rd playoff goal of his career, tying Evgeni Malkin for the 26th most playoff goals in NHL history.

- The Warren Foegele hit is a controversial one in the hockey world. First and foremost lets hope that TJ Oshie isn’t too seriously injured, but it does not look good on that front. I personally thought it was an awfully careless check and deserving of a major penalty.
- Paging Evgeny Kuznetsov, paging Evgeny Kuznetsov. You are needed in this series.
- A reminder that the Caps were behind in every series they played last playoffs. It’s not doomsday…yet.
