The NHL and Fanatics’ long-awaited Hometown Remix jersey program has finally been given an official release date.

On Thursday morning, the league revealed that the “launch date” for all 32 teams’ new sweaters will be Monday, November 2, at 10 am. The Florida Panthers will be the first team to wear the new looks in a game later that night when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Amerant Bank Arena.

The news follows a viral post on X earlier this week by hockey uniform outlet Jersey Nerds that allegedly leaked design renders for 20 of the league’s teams. Among the teams featured were the Washington Capitals, and their render seemingly confirmed rumored design elements, including the club’s retro Capitol Dome crest logo and blue, bronze, and white color scheme.

As part of the promotion, the NHL also released a video showing players reacting to their respective teams’ new alternates for the first time. Tom Wilson, the Capitals’ representative at the media tour in Las Vegas earlier this fall, simply said, “I like it,” with a smile when he was presented with Washington’s sweater.

After the NHL made its announcement, the Capitals followed up by sharing that the new jersey and related apparel will be available for purchase immediately at the team shop in the Gallery Place Atrium.

RMNB will also have links to purchase the sweaters as soon as they are made available online.

The Capitals previously teased their Hometown Remix design with the scrambled phrase “Carved in the Capital” and a close-up of the jersey’s blue fabric. The team later gave a preview of the gear they’ll wear with the jersey at practice last Monday, donning blue-and-white-cuffed gloves and all-black pants featuring three vertical copper-colored stars.

Fanatics and the NHL officially launched the Hometown Remix program on August 19.

The jerseys appear to be their take on the NBA’s City Edition and MLB’s City Connect jersey programs, as well as Fanatics’ own take on Adidas’s past Reverse Retro looks.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
