The Washington Capitals are officially back to business as they open the newly abbreviated NHL preseason with a game on the road against the Boston Bruins.
Sunday evening’s matchup will feature a mixed Capitals lineup, including some veteran mainstays, recent draft picks, and minor-league depth. The main highlights are the preseason debuts of three of the club’s marquee offseason additions: star winger Alex Tuch, former Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner, and the hulking Vincent Desharnais.
Logan Thompson is expected to get the start in net for the Capitals, with Mitchell Gibson serving as his backup.
The game will be broadcast on Monumental Sports Network 2 and NHL Network. Puck drop at TD Garden is set for 5 pm.
