Bogdan Trineyev received his first call-up to the NHL on Wednesday after Nic Dowd was placed on injured reserve.

While Trineyev didn’t make his NHL debut against the Winnipeg Jets, he did participate in warmups wearing no. 87 and made a quick cameo in the Capitals’ postgame locker room video.

The video starts with Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery praising his team and making light of Alex Ovechkin’s big evening, which included a pregame ceremony honoring his 900 goals and 1,500 games played.

“Obviously a special night and that just makes it a little bit more special when we find a way to get two points and win a hockey game,” Carbery began. “That’s a good f***ing job.”

The team claps.

“Mikey, that was a huge goal,” Carbery said of Connor McMichael’s game-winner, where he buried a breakaway goal on his backhand.

“The Savior,” Ovechkin replies, playing off of McMichael’s “McJesus” nickname.

“Chuckie, great f***ing job tonight,” adds Carbery, giving a nod to the victorious goaltender.

“That’s it, men,” Carbery said. “Keep this f***ing thing rolling. A lot of good things. The confidence continues to grow inside of our group and like I said before we started this game in the prescout is, now all of a sudden good things are happening for our group. We’re doing the right things, we’re playing the right way, we’re controlling play. Now we’re getting results.”

As Carbery walks out, Tom Wilson shouts out in a Russian accent, “BOG-DAHN! BOG-DAHN!”

“Where is he?” shouts McMichael.

Trineyev, in a suit, then appears on video and waves to the team.

The players wildly applaud and shout “BOGEY!” as he breaks out in a huge smile.

While Trineyev might be sent right back to the Bears with Dowd eligible to come off IR as soon as the team’s next game, he certainly earned the call-up with his play in the AHL. This the just first step of him fully realizing his dream of becoming an NHL player someday.
