Anthony Mantha visits former Capitals teammates during morning skate ahead of game against Flames

The Washington Capitals were visited by an old friend at their morning skate in Calgary on Tuesday.

Anthony Mantha, who signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Flames in July, stopped by to chat with some of his former teammates. Mantha has been out of action since November 5, when he tore his ACL against the Montreal Canadiens, ending his 2024-25 season.

The big winger spent parts of four seasons with the Capitals after coming to DC from the Detroit Red Wings in a trade that saw Jakub Vrana go in the other direction. The Capitals dealt Mantha to the Vegas Golden Knights at the 2024 trade deadline.

He recorded 92 points (44g, 48a) in 174 games for Washington.

Mantha had a strong start to his tenure with the Flames before injury cut his season short. Starting the year with a Gordie Howe hat trick in his first game with the Flames, Mantha recorded seven points (4g, 3a) in 13 games.
