Watch a machine-like Sergei Ovechkin score goals on his baby net

Sergei Ovechkin appears destined to be an NHL great just like dad.

On Thursday, Nastya Ovechkina posted video of tiny Sergei playing hockey inside their Miami beach house.

He scores on nearly every shot he takes.

Video

Sergei, who sleeps in bed with his hockey stick, backhands six plastic pucks into the Franklin toddler net.

I’d like to point you to the footage of the third shot which clangs off the post and sits on the goal line. Once he notices, Sergei crashes the net and slams the puck home. This kid is a power forward in the making.

Head coach/supportive mom Nasyta can be heard saying Bravo as he scores.

As you can plainly see, Sergei continues to rapidly improve at hockey and a large part of that is due to dad being his loving tutor.

Over the last year, Ovi has shared the intracies and experiences in the sport that he loves with his oldest son as he continues to get more and more obsessed. In September, Ovi took Ovi Jr. on a tour around MedStar Capitals Iceplex and skated him around the ice. In February, Sergei took the ice with dad’s Capitals teammates during practice. Ovi has worked with Ovi Jr. on his stickhandling and taught him how to do a proper slap shot (with Blake in goal). After Alex scored his 700th goal on February 22, he got Sergei his own baby hockey gear from CCM.

It looks like he’s going to get great use out of it.
