Sergei Ovechkin had a two-time Olympic gold medalist watching him practice his skating at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Thursday. Tatyana Ovechkina was in attendance to see her grandson get some work in.
The Ovechkin family including Sergei’s dad Alex and mom Nastya all made the trip to the Caps’ practice facility.

Alex Ovechkin made history during his two-goal night against the Winnipeg Jets. Ovechkin tied and passed Gordie Howe for second on the NHL’s all-time goals list.
After the game, Ovechkin said he was going to a bar for nachos and a hot dog because “Why not?”
While we cannot confirm or deny if this cheat meal actually happened, we can share something sweet waiting for Ovi when he got home.
Alex Ovechkin is on a march toward history and he’s keenly aware of it. The Capitals captain has been collecting his own milestone memorabilia and has been asking for other stars’ gear as the Caps play through their season.
The reason why is that Ovechkin has always been open about wanting to donate or open some type of hockey museum in Russia when his career is over, but there’s been a secondary effect of all that gathering.
He’s becoming a bit of a hoarder and apparently, that’s wearing on his wife.

Alex Ovechkin is already the father of two adorable children, but recently, he admitted he hopes to have an even bigger family.
While speaking to Hello Magazine Russia in a Russian language interview, Ovechkin said that he hopes that he and his wife Nastya have two more kids.

Alex Ovechkin looked anxious to score a goal early in the Capitals’ final exhibition of the preseason against the Columbus Blue Jackets. I have a hypothesis of why.
Both of Ovi’s two sons, Sergei and Ilya, attended the game and perhaps The Dadvechkin wanted his kiddos to see him score before their bedtime.

Alex Ovechkin flew home to Russia on Monday and appeared to arrive home later that night. The next morning, when Sergei and Ilya Ovechkin awoke from bed, they had a special surprise waiting for them. Their Dadvechkin.
“Daddy is back đ,” wrote Nastya Ovechkina on Instagram.
Alex Ovechkin was thrilled to score career goal number 767 at home and finally pass Jaromir Jagr for third all-time on the NHL’s goals list, Tuesday night. But after the game, Ovechkin admitted the moment was not perfect.
“Obviously, itâs always fun when you get a milestone and you get a win,” Ovechkin said to the media. “Obviously, it sucks when my kids didnât see it, my wife didnât see it, my parents, but they watch it at home. Theyâre happy and thatâs the most important thing.”
The Capitals game would have ended around 5 AM in Moscow time.
“Itâs been tough,” Ovechkin said. “We athletes. We just have to do our job and focus on what we do best (which) is play hockey and enjoy our moment.”
Alex Ovechkin was set to play in the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas on Saturday, but the coronavirus had other plans. Hours before puck drop between the Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers, Ovi landed in COVID-19 protocol and was sent into quarantine. Not only would he miss the Caps-Oilers game, but he’d also be required to miss the gathering of NHL elite in Sin City.
Some hockey fans and observers on social media put on tinfoil hats and wondered if this was Ovechkin’s way to dip out of the All-Star Game for a third-straight time and rest up for the second half of the season without technically saying he didn’t want to play.
But judging by Nastya Ovechkina’s nightmare travel experience, Ovi’s trip into protocol was very real and derailed the couple’s weekend plans.

Alex Ovechkin is one of the greatest hockey players of all time. He’s approaching Wayne Gretzky’s once-thought unbreakable goals record. He’s won the Stanley Cup and been NHL MVP three different times. He’s simply one of the most famous athletes in this area and in the world.
As a human, Ovi also remains down to Earth and correctly knows the pecking order in his marriage. Tuesday, Ovechkin made a coffee run for his wife Nastya Ovechkina. Nastya videoed away in the passenger seat as The Great 8 walked past other humans to bring his boo her tasty beverage.
