It’s last call. At 3 PM today, the NHL will permit no more trades between teams. Non-playoff teams will want to get all the value they can out of expiring contracts, and playoff-aspiring teams will try to fill whatever gaps they have.
This is the space where we’ll keep track of all the big moves. Come follow along.
But first, let’s learn the cast of characters.
These teams are almost certainly not making the playoffs and are looking towards the future.
These teams are in Win Now mode.
These teams are somewhere in between. Are they delusional enough to think they can win this thing?
We’ve already had two big moves by Washington — Dillon and Kovalchuk — plus one player who had been linked to Washington dealt elsewhere — Mike Green to Edmonton.
Okay, here goes. We’ll share news from good sources below. Use the comments as well to share something you see. You can just paste the address of a tweet in a comment and it’ll show up all pretty.
