Tonight the Washington Capitals will play their one and only home game at Capital One Arena this preseason, taking on the Boston Bruins. Puck drop is at 7 pm.
The game will mark the team’s second exhibition game against the Bruins this preseason, but their first look against most of the Bruins’ stars and vets. The Capitals are treating Friday as a dress rehearsal for Opening Night, with every starter playing except Alex Ovechkin, who will not suit up at all this preseason due to a lower-body injury.
The game, the Caps’ third of four total in the preseason, will give fans a first look at new offseason acquisitions Jordan Kyrou, Alex Tuch, Boone Jenner, and Vincent Desharnais on home ice, while attendees can experience Capital One Arena’s latest completed renovations.
Logan Thompson will get the start in goal and stay in net for the entire evening. Clay Stevenson will back him up with Charlie Lindgren scheduled to start Saturday against the Flyers.
Caps-Bruins will be broadcast on Monumental Sports Network.
